Coffee Table

Design:
This coffee table represents the first major furniture project built for myself. This project uses maple and walnut to contrast with each other and create a two toned look. Most coffee tables follow designs which look like boxes with hollow interiors. In this project the table moves beyond that typical hollow box and concentrates on linear elements as both surface and support. The slender members presented many difficulties but in the end the aluminum brackets provided the solution.
