Colton Silo Relocation
Fall 2010
Location: Colton, WA
Design:
The Colton Silo was over 50 feet tall and constructed in the 1950's. It had outlasted its useful life and the owner was interested in demolishing it.
Solutions were considered on how the building might be relocated. This proposal involved dismantling the structure and repurposing it into a highway rest area.
Sadly, on November 15th, 2010 the silo was destroyed during an intense storm under wind speeds in excess of 90 mph.
